The Ancient Bristlecone Pine Forest is located in the Inyo National Forest. It is the home of the oldest trees on earth, some of which are over 4000 years old. This was not our first trip to visit these ancients but it was the first time with a toddler. The one developed campground in the area, Grandview Campground, is one of my favorite places to camp in California. It is one of the darkest spots in the county so it is great for star gazing. Unfortunately wildfire smoke obscured the sky during our visit. Camping with a toddler can be a bit more work, and may be slightly less relaxing than our solo days, but being able to watch her explore and get excited about being outside makes it all worth it.
