Fall is my favorite season for hiking. The air is crisp and the smell of woodsmoke is in the air. The lack of bugs is always nice too. We recently took a drive up to the Rooesvelt Grove of Ancient Cedars. These giants are anywhere from 800- 2000+ years old! We had fun walking around all the monster trees and then took the one-mile loop trail to view Granite Falls. It was the perfect length hike for the girls with lots of spots to stop and explore the rocks and waterfalls along the trail. We will have to plan on coming back in the summer to check out a few promising-looking swimming holes. We ended our day with a picnic lunch and the best gift, two tired little girls who slept the whole drive home.
